Simply put, The Pittsburgh Citizen gives you all the tools you need to tell the stories that matter to you and your community. What kinds of stories? We often look for stories that explain how public policy decisions affect you and your community and that wouldn't otherwise be told in the mainstream news media, but the best part about The Pittsburgh Citizen is that you decide what kind of stories you'll see here because you report them.
However, with the support provided by The Pittsburgh Citizen, you're not out there reporting alone. We provide all of the resources and support you need to tell your story.
So, what do we provide?
- Editorial Support - You will work side-by-side with a trained journalist who will assist you in reporting and writing your story. You'll even be able to collaborate with your editor online through our Virtual Reporter’s Notebook™.
- Access to Sources - Need a particular government document or access to a source for an interview? The Pittsburgh Citizen team will help you track down that source.
- Publication - We will publish your work, including all associated audio, video, documents, and photographs, and promote your story so that it reaches a wide audience.
